Certified.....as an Internet Marketing Professional
Those that know me won't be surprised I've been certified, just not in the way they imagined!

So what's this certification then?
I spents months looking at various software packages for helping automate the process of website optimisation and internet marketing. In the end there was only one choice - Web CEO. The care and attention to detail in the product is like nothing I've ever seen, the support is outstanding and above all - it works (see below for proof)
So anyway - I bought it - and found there was a course as part of the package too. And what a course, over 120 hours of online study and pretty challenging tests, all done and graded online. The thing is, to get certified you have to get over 90%, and believe me it's tough. Every question in the exams makes you think - and justify to yourself - the answer. Talk about making sure you get the knowledge drilled into you!
Well I've spent the best part of 2007 learning, doing, learning and more learning and doing. I might not have been doing SEO/SEM for as long as some others but I'm pretty confident that I can hold my own with just about anyone now. With a background in IT that's somewhat strong too I feel all tooled up.
How do I know what I'm doing is actually working?
Simply put, you see more traffic.
I use webceo to keep dcmmoney.co.uk up in the charts. I'm competing against multimillion pound spenders, black-hat SEO practitioners who's clients go up the ranks fast (....and then rapidly down again) and against sites more established, bigger and equally clued up competitors. Tough market, aggressive market.
There's no PPC to fall back on at present so it's all down to organic listings - and the site is hovering around page 1/2 for "credit card debt" and tops the charts for some keyphrases that actually bring business in. Could I have done it all without specialist software - yes. But not as fast by a long shot.
